Herobots (hazardous environment robots, or at the same time Hero-bots: robots as heroes) is born to enable remote inspection and maintenance operations in constrained hazardous environments, using long-reach manipulators and digital twin technology. The company is born from a research group at the Department of Industrial Engineering active in the product design and development of robotics and virtual reality systems.

Herobots holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certifications, and operates from two sites: a laboratory at the CESMA centre of the University of Naples Federico II, used for prototyping, testing and demonstrators; and an industrial facility in Via Ferrante Imparato, Naples, opened in October 2025.
